We have plans to build a new structure for a Still Waters Men Dining, Meeting Hall and Commercial Kitchen
The Still Waters Men Dining, Meeting Hall and Commercial Kitchen
Seven years ago Cumberland Heights opened a 12-Step Immersion retreat for men in Lobelville, Tennessee. We named it Still Waters for its peaceful pond and stream, and setting, and we committed to teaching Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous principles of recovery using literature, fellowship, group work, lectures and 12-Step meetings.
20 or more residents and staff have been at Still Waters Men on a continuous basis for the past 4 years. The program has been expanded for a longer-term experience combined with a volunteer internship program allowing us to serve more in need and for lengthier stays. The most recent expansion of programming is the Still Waters Transitions Program, which offers a 90-day extension of a residents stay following the primary Still Waters Program. This program continues on with the Still Waters immersion recovery model but also includes life-skills training to prepare the graduates for a more seem-less integration into life after Still Waters.
In this beautiful, rural setting, the one thing missing is an adequate dining space and commercial kitchen. We have plans to build a new structure for a Dining and Meeting Hall and kitchen. The hall will face the woods and will have a large veranda for residents and families to visit. The dining area will feature a fireplace and be suitable for groups and speakers as well as mealtime seating to accommodate residents, staff, families, and guests. Its rustic design will further enhance the serenity of Still Waters. Cost for the project including furnishing and kitchen equipment is $750,000.00.
