Lisa Komisar serves as a Primary Counselor for Cumberland Heights’ Chattanooga IOP and has been part of the team for more than 10 years. She began in Admissions before spending four and a half years as a Primary Counselor in the residential Men’s Program. For the past six years, she has served as the evening IOP Counselor in Chattanooga.
Lisa began working in substance use disorder treatment in 2006 and quickly discovered a passion for helping others begin their recovery journeys, inspiring her to pursue alcohol and drug counseling licensure. She finds fulfillment in watching patients move from despair and isolation to hope, connection, and a sense of belonging.
Outside of work, Lisa enjoys exploring Chattanooga’s parks with her dog, Libby. Her three adult children also live nearby, and she especially cherishes spending time with her grandson and being an involved grandmother.
