What is Sober Living?
For those who struggle with addiction, everyday life is full of temptations. Aside from potential stressors and triggers, the availability of drugs or alcohol within work, home or social environments often enables substance abuse. Living an abstinence-based lifestyle is much harder when you are regularly confronted with the choice to drink or use, particularly in the early days of recovery.
As a result, many people choose to make a sober living residence their home following residential treatment. Sober living residences are substance-free environments that hold residents accountable for their actions through regular meetings, house rules, community events and certain expectations. With all of the discovery and recovery that begins in the initial residential treatment experience, it’s common to find that additional time is necessary to consolidate and process the knowledge you have gained, to explore deeper issues and to root yourself in an abstinence-based recovery lifestyle more firmly.

Our Keep it Simple home, located in Murfreesboro, TN and Keystone home, located in Nashville (Bellevue) are part of Cumberland Heights and encourage male resident participation in aftercare meetings, community involvement, and sober activities with recovering people. All Cumberland Heights settings are quality environments serving only up to 8 residents in desirable neighborhoods within minutes of an outpatient center – which is not mandatory but is available. Staffed with Cumberland Heights employees with years of their own personal recovery to assist residents.
Women’s Sober Living at Searchlight and Honest Manor Houses
The Searchlight and Honest Manor homes are specific to Cumberland Heights. We create a safe and encouraging environment for our female residents through regular aftercare meetings, community involvement and social engagements with other individuals in recovery. Our women-only homes admit up to eight residents at a time to ensure ample personal space and a closely knit sense of community. Both Searchlight and Honest Manor are located in safe, desirable neighborhoods and are within minutes of an outpatient treatment center (continuing outpatient treatment is not mandatory but is available through our programs). Our women-only residences are staffed by Cumberland Heights professionals who are available to assist residents at all times.

Our Searchlight home, located in Gallatin, TN and Honest Manor home, located in Nashville, TN are part of Cumberland Heights and encourage female resident participation in aftercare meetings, community involvement, and sober activities with recovering people. All Cumberland Heights settings are quality environments serving only up to 8 residents in desirable neighborhoods within minutes of an outpatient center – which is not mandatory but is available. Staffed with Cumberland Heights employees with years of their own personal recovery to assist residents.
