Keeping our Cumberland Heights community healthy

It’s a good time to come to treatment

CEO Jay Crosson reaffirms our commitment to fighting addiction during these uncertain times. We are open, accepting new patients and taking every precaution to keep our recovery community safe.

Cumberland Heights is Here to Help

These are trying times, especially for those effected by substance use disorder. Cumberland Heights is here for you and your loved ones and plans to continue to provide high-quality, lifesaving addiction treatment throughout the COVID-19 health crisis.

We are committed to leading the battle against two very serious diseases: COVID-19, by doing everything possible to keep our campus protected, and addiction, by providing a continuum of care that meets patients every step of the way along their path to recovery.

We Are and Will Remain Open

Thanks to our dedicated and highly skilled staff, we’re adapting our programs to better accommodate the needs of those seeking treatment during these unprecedented times. Following a heightened screening process, we continue to admit patients to our residential treatment facilities. We’re monitoring this evolving situation closely and have enhanced our procedures and protocols to minimize risk for our patients, alumni and employees.

Now Offering Telehealth Services

In addition, we are now offering telehealth services as a virtual component of our programs. Telehealth services provide the opportunity for any discharging patient with internet access or a smartphone with audio and video capacity to connect with counselors and participate in real-time individual and group therapy sessions.

Scholarships Need Your Support

Cumberland Heights is working diligently to adapt every aspect of our work to help stop the spread of COVID-19, while continuing to deliver the utmost value in addiction care. Your support is needed now more than ever to help provide much-needed scholarships for those seeking lifesaving treatment.

Thank you for your support as we roll out this new initiative that will enhance our ability to fulfill our mission of transforming lives, bringing hope and healing to those affected by alcohol or drug addiction. We will get through this challenging time together, taking it one day at a time. May you and your loved ones be well.

Sincerely,

Jay Crosson

Cumberland Heights Foundation

Please see important message from our President & CEO

To Cumberland Heights’ Alumni, Board Members and Friends:

We want to share with you that Cumberland Heights is taking preventative measures to ensure the health and safety of our patients, staff, alumni and community. Your well-being is our top priority. At this time, Cumberland Heights is unaffected by COVID-19. We are taking precautions to minimize exposure risk and are adhering to guidelines provided by the CDC including:

  • Heightened screening process for all potential admissions according to CDC guidelines.
  • Additional screening for visitors and limiting the number of guests.
  • Increasing cleaning and disinfecting of equipment and frequently-touched surfaces such as door handles, railings and counter tops.
  • Sharing COVID-19 prevention information to all employees and instructing staff to stay home if they are ill.

Out of an abundance of caution, we will begin temporarily suspending large group gatherings at our River Road campus including Aftercare meetings, Crossover meetings, the Monday Al-Anon meeting, Sunday chapel services and Sunday visitor lunch effective as of today, March 12. We regret this step is necessary, but public health considerations must put patient safety ahead of all other factors. We will continue to assess this situation and will provide updates accordingly.

Thank you,

Jay Crosson

CEO
