The 2026 Breakfast of Champions will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM at Music City Center and will feature guest speaker Will Wade, LSU Head Men’s Basketball Coach. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Men’s Program at Cumberland Heights.
Cumberland Heights’ Men’s Program is designed to guide individuals from the pain and isolation that accompany addiction toward a life of connection, healing, and long-term recovery. Our experienced clinical team creates individualized treatment plans for each patient, incorporating comprehensive education on the disease of addiction, group and individual therapy, 12-Step programming, family therapy, and relapse prevention. Through compassionate care and evidence-based treatment, Cumberland Heights helps individuals build the foundation for lasting sobriety, renewed purpose, and lifelong wellness.

Featured Speaker: Will Wade
Will Wade, LSU Men’s Head Basketball Coach, has built a reputation as one of college basketball’s most dynamic and resilient leaders. Across 12 seasons as a head coach, his teams have consistently demonstrated grit, accountability, perseverance, and the ability to rise above challenges — qualities that closely align with the mission of Cumberland Heights’ adult residential treatment program.
As the featured speaker for Breakfast of Champions, Coach Wade will share insights on leadership, resilience, personal growth, and the discipline. His story of navigating pressure, setbacks, and redemption offers a powerful message of hope and determination for all those committed to recovery and transformation.
2026 Duke Kennedy Award
The Duke Kennedy Award is given each year at the Breakfast of Champions to honor a person who has made an exemplary impact on the recovery community. This year, Cumberland Heights is pleased to present the Duke Kennedy Award to Jimmy Stansell of Nashville, Tennessee.
Jimmy Stansell is the Chairman Emeritus & Culture Champion at Stansell Electric Company in Nashville. He received a BE in Electrical Engineering at Vanderbilt followed by graduate work in Traffic Engineering at Yale. After one year as Assistant Traffic Engineer in Louisville, KY, Jimmy returned to Nashville to start what would become a 60+ year career at the company his father founded in 1940.
Jimmy is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Tennessee and holds electrical contractor licenses in six states. In his current role at Stansell Electric, Jimmy enjoys writing a personal letter to each of the nearly 450 employees on their work anniversary and calling or visiting each employee on their birthday.
Active in trade associations, Jimmy is a Past President of the Greater Tennessee Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, where he received the Rodgers-Bell Award, the association’s highest award in 2025. He is a Past President of the Tennessee Road Builders Association and is one of fifteen to have received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Jimmy has also served on the boards of St. Paul Christian Academy, the Monteagle Sunday School Assembly, and Insight Counseling Centers of Tennessee.
During his 28 years on the Board of Cumberland Heights, Jimmy has served on the Endowment, Building & Grounds, Finance, and Executive Committees. Wanting to help people in treatment now and for years to come, in 2017, Jimmy established the Pete Stansell Memorial Endowment Fund in memory of his beloved uncle, who was very active in AA and whose service to others was an inspiration for Jimmy.
