Cumberland Heights is known for its beautiful facilities. Of course, it's nice having beautiful campuses. What is more important is how these settings facilitate healing, provide patients the serenity to rediscover their better selves, and give patients the tools they need to maintain recovery once they leave.

“I have to remember that every day that I wake up that I’m sober, I can pray to my higher power to go through that day using the tools that I’ve learned.”

Still Waters for Women Recovery Story

I can tell you that for me, Cumberland Heights changed my life. From the very minute I got to Cumberland Heights, the love, the support, the kindness,  the gratitude, the graciousness, the honesty, the perseverance – it was there for me.

I have never felt more loved, more cared for and more honored just for who I am than since I’ve been in recovery.

They said in the beginning that things just keep getting better as you keep doing the next right thing, and I believe it. I’ve seen it happen for me and I’ve also seen it happen for a lot of people around me.

And another thing someone told me is that ‘It’s five miles in and five miles out’ it took us a long time to get where we are so it will take us a long time to get back. But I have to remember that every day that I wake up that I’m sober, I can pray to my higher power and go through that day using the tools that I’ve learned … and I feel confident that I’m going to get through that day.
